Driving back to Richmond a second time was much easier than the first drive. I knew what I was to expect and I was happy that I was going counter commute. When I got to the office I walked into our building and had to call Joe to let me through. After he let me through, I put my lunch in the kitchen I met with Ryan and he gave me a debrief on the day. Before I went to Walnut Creek to start my regular internship hours over there I would be trained on how to use the external drive, where to store constituent cases, and how to log phone calls.

At around 10:30 have I met the other intern that was going to be working from the Richmond office. Then we met with Ryan in the middle of the office. There were two cubicles that would be where we would be training. The interesting part of the Office in Richmond is that it was a shared space--there were three other companies there and so it was weird trying to work with other people in that space. So, as Ryan began to train us in the midst of people answering phone calls and taking people to their appointments we began to catch on to all of the details that this internship entailed. I took notes on everything--I was so nervous that I was now I was representing someone in Congress. All morning and through the early afternoon we got trained on answering phone calls and the system that they use to track them: Intertrac. When our shifts ended I left Richmond and I got hit with the worst traffic ever. --I was happy to be leaving Richmond because my commute was closer to Walnut Creek which is where I would start on Monday.
