Recruiting Other Interns

As I am ending my last couple of shifts at the office; Megan came up to me and asked me if I'd be willing to help out and recruit other interns for the Fall and the Spring as I let them know that I would not be continuing my internship for the Fall because my class load would be more rigorous. So, of course, I said yes and she asked me if I could specifically reach out to Saint Mary's students and recommend anyone that I knelt would be a good fit for the role.

As I began doing my research I began recommending people I thought would be a good fit and I posted on all the Saint Mary's Campus Class Pages in order to reach a wide-ranging audience. I thought that this was a good idea and I felt proud of doing this because it made me see the value in being a Saint Mary's student. After I had done all of that work one of my old residents actually reached out to me and began to ask me questions about the application--I began to realize that she was interested in the position and I felt really happy that she was doing so because I knew she would be amazing at this type of internship. Being a part of the recruitment process was very helpful for me in trying to learn about employment from an employer, and make me feel that I had value as an intern.
